How Does Self-Paced Learning Work

24/7 Self-Paced Learning happens at time and place of your choosing. The advantage is that the participant has the opportunity to access and learn at a pace that suits their learning style.

You will have 20 days from your first login to complete the course.

Do I need any special equipment?

Only a computer with speakers and Internet access (DSL recommended). Your computer is used to view/listen, and verify your participation in the Self-Paced Learning Course.

Works with Windows, Mac, Linux and all browsers (No special plug-ins or downloads are required).
Should you experience any problems, send us an e-mail describing the problem.

Do I need to take a test to receive CE credit? 

Passing an online exam activity is required to receive your course completion certificate.

After you have finished with the course material, it will be followed by the test.

The ethnographic interview is discussed as well as its benefit over the home language survey in elicitation of key information. Response To Intervention and English Language Learners:
A Team Effort

This course involved sociocultural and linguistic research based methods with a specialized language underpinning. It also involved many team members including OTs to provide input about how movement in space may augment function in ELLs who may appear more disordered than they are in actuality. Response to intervention involves careful scrutiny of educational interventions already being used and making adjustments as needed. We discussed how we can do this and optimize educational outcomes for this population..

Pre-referral and ELLs: Reduction of Unnecessary Referrals to SPED

This course involved pre-referral techniques and aspects of the individualizing of educational programs relevant to student need were discussed. The relationship between differential diagnosis of language difference and disorder were reviewed and connections were made. Participants were given information about educational interventions that make a difference when working with ELLs. These were recommended as being highly effective when used appropriately with this population.
